wear my heart on my sleeve

I have never had the courage to wear my heart on my sleeve,
the memories are not that bad but the dreams were taken by a thief.
With some dash of fear my childhood was what you call 'mediocre'
If it was the poor version of 'Batman' my life was a goddam joker

The darkness was just a postman, bringing letters from the past
And I would play 'the old librarian', saving the pages from dust.
Who shall keep up her good little act
In order to keep the books hard to find; intact .

Some said I give up too fast, some said I don't,
each one of them had a word of their own.
At the end of the day their opinion is their reality
We all were fooled by that and charged as guilty.

Now that I am old enough and still not free of judgments
My castle was burned and I was left with just fragments
With which I will build a cave strong enough for us to live
Now that I am old I will wear my heart on my sleeve.
